Manage institution seats, billing, and API credits
Keep worksheet membership capacity, recurring seat billing, and prepaid API credits distinct.
- Who this is for
- Institution administrators; organization API managers for the credit section
- Before you begin
- The intended institution is active in the organization switcher
Know the three resources
| Resource | What it controls | Who manages it |
|---|---|---|
| Organization membership | Who belongs to the workspace and which role they hold | Administrator |
| Worksheet seats | How many seat-carrying administrators, educators, and legacy members can use the app | Administrator |
| API credits | Shared prepaid budget: one credit per generated exercise | Administrator or Developer |
Buy and manage worksheet seats
- As an administrator, open Institution with the correct organization active.
- Before the first purchase, select a quantity (self-service covers up to 20 accounts) and complete Paddle checkout.
- After activation, use Manage plan to open Paddle's customer portal for subscription details and invoices.
- Compare seat-carrying membership with the purchased quantity before sending new invitations.
Manage shared API credits
- Organization administrators and developers can buy packs from the organization developer or institution surface.
- Credits belong to the organization, not to the person who paid or created the key.
- A successful request uses one credit per generated exercise (answer included): a 20-exercise worksheet uses 20 credits.
- Failed generation, rendering, or embed minting reverses the reserved credits; catalog requests and embed views are free.
- Purchase and usage history should show the organization transaction and spend after processing completes.
Negotiated institution plans
An institution with a negotiated monthly quota or manual billing note sees contract-specific status instead of the self-service cards. Follow the named billing contact and agreement; do not infer prepaid-credit or self-service renewal rules for that plan.
Success check
Membership fits the purchased worksheet capacity, admins can locate the subscription record, and API managers can explain the organization's separate shared credit balance.
